K.CC.6 Identify whether the number of objects in one group is greater than, less than, or equal to the number of objects in another group, e.g., by using matching and counting strategies.

This Counting and Cardinality lesson practices counting by comparing the number of objects in a group. The lesson includes research-based strategies and strategic questions that prepare students for assessments. For this lesson, students must be able to count objects in a group. The problems in the skill development address the following: quantities of 10 or less, quantity versus volume, and counting strategies. After Skill Development, students can use the strategy of their choice.
