This writing strategies lesson focuses on selecting an organizational structure when writing. The lesson includes research-based strategies and strategic questions that prepare students for assessments. In this lesson, students are given a topic and asked to determine if chronological, sequential, cause & effect, or compare & contrast organizational structure is best. Then, students justify their answers and give a short example. In addition to the lesson, there are five pages of Independent Practice and review with questions modeled after current adaptive testing items.
