Isolate Final Sounds

CCSS ELA: RF.K.2

RF.K.2 Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds (phonemes).

RF.K.2.D

RF.K.2.D Isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant, or CVC) words. (This does not include CVCs ending with /l/, /r/, or /x/.)

This phonics lesson covers the following sounds: /t/, /p/, /n/, /m/, /s/, /k/, /g/, /d/, /b/, /f/, /v/, /z/, /sh/, /ch/, /th/, /ng/. The lesson includes research-based strategies and strategic questions that prepare students for assessments. In this lesson, students should practice answering questions without prompting or support. Additional teacher instructions are included throughout the lesson.
