RL.6.10 By the end of the year, read and comprehend literature, including stories, dramas, and poems, in the grades 6-8 text complexity band proficiently, with scaffolding as needed at the high end of the range.

This literary response and analysis lesson focuses on defining tone in poetry. The lesson includes research-based strategies and strategic questions that prepare students for assessments. In addition to the lesson, there are four pages of Independent Practice and review with questions modeled after current adaptive testing items.
