Solve Problems Involving Permutations

TEKS Math: MM.8.A

(A) Determine the number of ways an event may occur using combinations, permutations, and the Fundamental Counting Principle

AU Math: ACMSP225

(Y9) List all outcomes for two-step chance experiments, both with and without replacement using tree diagrams or arrays. Assign probabilities to outcomes and determine probabilities for events (ACMSP225)

CCSS Math: HSS.CP.9

HSS.CP.9 (+) Use permutations and combinations to compute probabilities of compound events and solve problems.

This conditional probability lesson teaches students how to use permutations and combinations to compute probabilities of compound events and solve problems. The lesson includes research-based strategies and strategic questions that prepare students for assessments. In this lesson, students will use diagrams and the Fundamental Counting Principal to determine the size of a sequence, the given number of objects and then find the number of permutations.
