2(2)(B)(vi) Demonstrate and apply phonetic knowledge by decoding words with prefixes, including un-, re-, and dis-, and inflectional endings, including -s, -es, -ed, -ing, -er, and -est.

This reading foundational lesson covers the decoding of words with suffixes. The lesson includes research-based strategies and strategic questions that prepare students for assessments. In this lesson, students will write a new word by adding a suffix, decode the meaning of the new word, and then complete sentences using the new word made with the suffix. (Focus is on suffixes -less, -ing, and -ly.)
