This high school world history lesson has students trace the major principles of democracy through historical documents including the Magna Carta, the English Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, the United States Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of the Rights of Mankind and of the Citizen. Students will also compare the rights and principles within the various documents.
