Identify Geometric Definitions, Postulates, and Theorems

TEKS Math: 4.6.A

(A) Identify points, lines, line segments, rays, angles, and perpendicular and parallel lines

AU Math: ACMEM107

(Y11-12) Use symbols and conventions for the representation of geometric information; for example, point, line, ray, angle, diagonal, edge, curve, face and vertex (ACMEM107)

CCSS Math: HSG.CO.1

HSG.CO.1 Know precise definitions of angle, circle, perpendicular line, parallel line, and line segment, based on the undefined notions of point, line, distance along a line, and distance around a circular arc.

This math lesson teaches students definitions of common geometry vocabulary terms. The lesson includes research-based strategies and strategic questions that prepare students for standardized assessments. In this lesson, students will define and identify terms, postulates, and theorems from geometry. In addition to the lesson, there are two pages of independent practice and three pages of periodic review with questions modeled after standardized assessments.
