This earth science lesson focuses on explaining how stars produce elements. The lesson includes research-based strategies and strategic questions that prepare students for assessments. In this lesson, students read passages and complete a graphic organizer that includes entries such as big bang, red giant star, massive star, and supernovas. Then, they read scenarios and decide which of the nuclear fusion reactions are correct. FInally, students describe how the element was created in the stars. In addition to the lesson, there are three pages for Independent Practice and review modeled after current adaptive testing items.
