The lesson includes research-based strategies and questions that help prepare students for assessments. The lesson uses clues within the passages to confirm each prediction. In addition to the lesson, there are four pages of Independent Practice and review with questions modeled after current adaptive testing items.

In this lesson, students will write a new word by adding a prefix, decode the meaning of the new word, and then complete sentences using the new word made with the prefix.
